Kanye locked in with Daft Punk, Gesaffelstein, and Arca to craft Yeezus. Producers that are not even in the same universe as him when it comes to sound

I just feel like y’all are trying to convince yourselves at this point

Yall r dumb as f***. Yeezus split fans upon release, so did wlr. Yeezus switched up the sound and influenced those that came after it, so did wlr.

You f***ing oldheads need to collect your social security and pension and stop being so stuck in the pAst

the fact that this is all you need to make a parallel speaks to how low standards have gotten for music moments. Y’all wanna reach to make parallels like this to convince yourself people are on a certain level instead of holding them to a higher standard to where he’d naturally make a Yeezus level album relative to todays sound (aka WLR is different but not as drastically different from things as Yeezus was) to begin with.

A polarizing album means it’s the successor to another polarizing album from a decade ago? Lmao

Also unless y’all are like 14-17 (maybe y’all are) why do y’all treat 1995-1999 like it’s 30 years before 2000-2003 with this old head s*** 😂

    Carti tapped F1LTHY

Which was dope, I love the sound they crafted with each other. But then it’s a handful of Brandon Finessin ass beats on the album Lmaoo like cmon bro, if u play this s*** next to Yeezus ur getting laughed at

WLR is pretty much the same Content wise as any Carti album just more violent and a few songs about actual romantic love

Yeezus was an album trying to reconcile Kanye's wealth, lust, business aspirations, and reckless hedonism with his new family and acknowledging his need to change his ways and Find God. And in a more abrasive format than most people would be willing to take. That's the true risk of Yeezus, not just the sound and production style, but the Themes paired along with it.
A track like Hold My Liquor is a shining example of what Yeezus is trying to get a listener to grapple with

    very different from each other

I think you need a very long career arc and already have a solid legacy before you can create an album that compares to Yeezus. and I say that as a Fan of Carti's music

DIE4GUY? F33L Like Dyin? Punk Monk? Sky?

we only counting from projects released

3 years after the first mixtape or 2 years after the first album

that’d be like if yeezus came right after college dropout

    First mixtape was 2012

Definitely the closest thing to it so far. Not on the same level quality-wise, but the risks he took sonically are beautiful

Yup, both are fake experimental and fake punk. Surface level “hey look at me I’m different!”
