Frank Grillo says that MCU got in trouble because they became too confident, explains why working with Gunn feels so much different

A lot of what DC is, and the fun for me, really, is in the world-building, not just the story-building. I don't think of DCU as being, “Oh, this is a story we're telling over multiple films and TV shows about one big bad.” I don't want to have to do, as an audience member, the homework to have to see every single thing. It is more of a connected universe that exists within one place, which is the DCU, which will have differences depending on who the artists and the directors and the production designers are that are making the shows.
I think this a good move to play it loose with the universe. One of the more exhausting part of the MCU was trying to tie everything together and that took precedence over storytelling.
The hyper connectivity of the MCU is its biggest strength when it was still small but now that it's 40 films deep, with several shows, it's the MCU biggest weakness.
I wonder how connected they're going to make the DCU, the animated, games, and movies all being connected to a degree is a lil worrying tho
Soooooo will there just not be any justice league movies? Or rather, there won't be setup in them? Just everyone pops up friends, battle tested, now have to stop darkseid or whoever from annihilating the known universe? Cool, but I don't see a company this big betting on that again after last time.

We don’t know it didn’t start yet
Marvel and DC
DC been fallen off for like a decade+ now. It’s time for them to return to making good s***.
CC on Toonami and Max?
probably max but they might do a marathon on toonami when its over
they did a harley quinn marathon once
Quick glance at headlines, sounds like it’s solid and good but pretty similar to TSS and Gotg
Tbh it’s kinda what I expected lmao
HE RECYCLING FORMULAS
when the trailer had all the guys in the cargo portion of a plane all having banter, introducing themselves to each other while they're strapped in i was like
he did that already in TSS. and not his fault but ayer even did this in his suicide squad AND they did it in deadpool 2.
Sooo basically…if you like Gunn’s previous films then you will like this. And if you don’t like Gunn’s style already, this show won’t win you over
Expected tbh. Sounds like a fun watch but I still just mainly wanna see the Superman trailer.
