Solomon Grundy
Clayface
Poison ivy
Bane (comic version)
Mister freeze
Ra’s Al Ghul
Killer Croc
These are Batman villain all stuped in fantasy elements that in no way would fit with Matt reeves world unless changed dramatically.
Yes Batman is just a human but Matt reeves version is very different and nerfed compared to comic version.
Clayface, Ivy, Freeze and Croc all have grounded origins that expand into fantastical characters. That's not against what Reeves was arguing. Ra's and Bane we quite literally 20 years ago and 13 years ago saw is adaptable in a more realistic sense. None of these characters are fantastical without reason and have some grounded and human story that led to it. That was always how Reeves explained developing characters. I'm not saying that means we just get Croc, but how can you absolutely cancel out most of these???
Grundy is the true odd ball here largely because he was not initially a Batman villain. He appeared against Alan Scott's Green Lantern and the JSA

Lol good point about ras Al gul just being in batman begins leading an ancient legion of ninja even though that nolanverse was arguably even more realistic and grounded than the reeves one
Buts it’s Matt reeves movies not James Gunn.
If it would happen, the two would clearly find a way into it together lol
What you think is a lazy argument I look at a defense of actual artistic vision. I thought one of the main points of Matt reeves version is that it’s grounded in reality. Yall want dude to change his whole vision because yall wanna fancast. Yall the ones unimaginative for not being able to comprehend that two interpretations of the same character can’t co exist at the same time. You know that’s a thing that happens all the time in comic books.
Nah i feel like a lot of the fans have put a bunch of words in Reeves mouth that he never said tho. You unintentionally just did it in your last post by preemptively crossing off characters YOU believe he can't do. How are you defending Reeves vision if you don't even know where his head is at right now or what he has planned?
I've personally argued against a merger quite consistently, but believe there could be a pathway down the line (which Reeves and Gunn both keep leaving the door open on). In the meantime, I don't think there needs to be a rush to develop a 2nd Batman while there's endless DC stories to tell. Whatever they decide is their move tho. They prob know more than I do.
Also the audience for comics is far more niche and understanding than general audiences of film franchises. Comics are weekly and monthly while CBMs are 2-3 times a year. Comic fans fully understand what they are purchasing and know canon and retcons far better than film fans. Comparing the fans (comic fan base is extremely small) as a reason to go for it is not a good idea.
This is one of his better explanations of how he sees things. He even connects it to his grounded approach with Apes and Cloverfield, doesn't discount connecting DC aspects in the future and shares how he could envision Superman appearing and it being really shocking to Gotham citizens

Episode 2 of peacemaker is great man lol
That’s the map from the new comics and they’re actually using in the movies damn

Decent episode felt like it got cut off early
Brah if you cut out the credits, previously on and the intro this episode was probably like 20 minutes
Man I came in here to see the reactions to the "Man of Tomorrow" announcement but folks still talking bout some damn integration
Harcourt being Rick Flag Jr’s f\*\*\*buddy was such a crazy twist and I guess Enchantress is around too?? 3 years ago was The Suicide Squad, 8 months ago was when Flag Sr become Director of Argus, 6 months ago was when Peacemaker found about the other universe(s), 1 month ago was Superman (could be wrong about this idk). Creature Commandos happened before Flag Sr became director but after Peacemaker Season 1

Sasha actress can barely speak
She's just trying to keep Gal Gadot's memory alive
Now I’m wondering how Rick Flag Sr is gonna be visiting at Belle Reve cause I had thought it was gonna be Michael Rooker’s Red St. Wild or whatever but that’s obviously not the case
