Season 1 was waaaay better , this season had some cool moments but overall idk man I really tried to like it but the writing is kind of off . I remember James Gunn saying something about having to force himself to finish it and it definitely feels that way

Season 1 was peak comic book television

Season 2 felt like a big burger of nothing

The Gunn-isms were really overdone in this season

As an episode of Peacemaker, it was a great epilogue. I think James may have overpromised though. But I am interested to see how the prison plays into Man of Tomorrow because that is clearly the element that’s going to be in it. That and the Flagg/Lex relationship. It’s kind of an anti finale in the sense where it’s not a huge action sequence, but narratively it works

I think this Season is going to have middle chapter syndrome when they close out the story in either Season 3 or Checkmate, or Man of Tomorrow

That unannounced show is 100% Checkmate

This is my takeway from it, if you're a fan of the show and the narrative with the 11th street kids I think you'd like the finale. As far as bigger world building and expecting teases from man of tomorrow, I get why people might feel underwhelmed.

Somebody else needs to be given the reigns on it, the Gunn Formula is bordering on oversaturation

Maybe not totally take it over, but have a co-showrunner?

The remaining characters I think should have his voice there, but the plot and structure should have another person there so it doesn’t feel like MORE of the same.

Rick flag is such a boring nothing character I don’t give a f*** about ur dead son my god

Next year in DC is all non-Gunn and that is such an exciting prospect.

I wonder if his big culmination film is a form of Final Crisis

Which is weird for a new universe but with him doing Salvation Run for MOT/Checkmate I can’t help but think that’s where he’s going

They definitely oversold the finale. I was expecting some crazy twist lol but I still enjoyed it. Fun season

I really think James Gunn should just fully take on a Feige type role for the DCU and not have any direct involvement in the making of the movies or shows lol
