Yeah jimmy olson gorilla grodd is about as heavy hitting as you can get

    Jimmy ties in with Superman

Also, they could use Grodd as a way to introduce The Flash

  • Oblivion X

Catwoman and poison ivy shows im assuming were Reeves...poison ivy in The Batman 2 ?

Also not convinced Waller or Paradise Lost are canceled

Sneider scooped the Ivy show 2 months ago as not knowing, followed up with saying its Reeves just last month, but don't think he knew if it was a Part 2 tie in.

Rejecting a Zoe Kravitz Catwoman show that could've built off The Penguin by building on her relationship with Sofia is just plain ret*

    It's a layup and could've been GREAT

This after Gunn on his usual bs claimed the show was in “extreme development”

But not moving ahead with Paradise Lost as of now is a good move

Prioritize introducing a new Wonder Woman then maybe revisit the idea after her first or second movie

Waller idc, maybe retool it into a Secret Six or Checkmate project

HBO has always kind of just run its own agenda though. Its not concerned about universes. They see the fact they want a Penguin S2 after investing in S1 and wonder why wouldn't all that just be done there. Beyond the issue it literally cannot be made before Part 2 lol.

I wanted to see Zoe in Bludhaven. Would that show even get to Sofia angle?

That's for the writers to figure out lmao

I get it though, HBO won't just make anything to make it.

I wouldn't throw them away, make them supporting characters to a new lead set of characters. I wouldn't toss them completely

  • Decent chance that the Absolute Batman TV show is a bigger success than any of the Gunn's DCU shows or films.

The more we learn, the more I feel laying out 10 projects before even getting one into theaters was a mistake.

Creature Commandos - Renewed for a second season (although that's not a guarantee these days)
    Superman - Success
Peacemaker Season 2 - Came out, final season?
    Supergirl - Flop
    Lanterns - Starts Sunday
    Authority - CANCELLED
    Waller - CANCELLED
Booster Gold - Scrapped and being retooled
    Paradise Lost - CANCELLED
The Brave and the Bold - ???
Swamp Thing - ?? - Mangold has a lot on his plate but we also haven't heard a thing since the announcement

Since that initial video these have been announced by them or trades:

    Clayface - Hitting Theaters October
    Man of Tomorrow - Filming
Jimmy Olsen Show - (Why?) Filming
Bane and Deathstroke movie - Development
    Sgt. Rock - CANCELLED
Wonder Woman - Development with Supergirl writer
Teen Titans - Development with Supergirl writer
Blue Beetle Animated - Scrapped at HBO but could go elsewhere?
Mr. Miracle Animated - Moving forward
    Mister Terrific Show - Development

This is not to say that they shouldn't have announced the above projects outside of what's in production now, but I think doing so before having total proven success was kind of short sighted. DC was a damaged brand when Gunn took over and the first big movie was a hit. I think he could've announced a "slate" after Superman at that Comic Con. Momentum would've been rolling and I don't think we would have this weird assortment of cancelled or scrapped projects along with new projects that weren't a part of the initial announcement.

I hate doing this but compared to how Marvel started out, I don't think they ever did a big slate presentation until that Phase 3 presentation where they announced Civil War. By that time they were a proven success and there was enough confidence behind the product to put all those titles out there. And even with that, they still did add projects to that slate (namely Spider-Man: Homecoming) but they also cancelled Inhumans (or rather shifted it to an ABC show where the concept died a humiliating death). So it wasn't all sunshine and daisies. But that's one project vs. what looks to be about 5?

I get that the WB shareholders probably wanted to see a plan, but I don't think that plan should've been made public. Almost 4 years later, half of that plan has completely changed.

  • Wait did that article even mention Mister Miracle lol
