So as some of y'all know i'm a very big Gaspar Noé fan and even more so of his feature film Enter The Void. A movie i think is so original in execution and i have never found anything that resembles it even a bit. So you could imagine i s***ted myself yesterday while watching Fallen Angels and noticing some of the similarities. Even though the films are very different
seen parts of Fallen Angels and was aware of it, but yesterday finally seen it in full with no distractions for the first time and all i can say issa 10/10
Imma add this to my list
This film gonna have you immersed like no other trust me bro
I loved In the Mood for Love but wasn't a fan of Chungking Express. will I dig this?

Soo it might fall either way for you lmao
Fallen Angels was filmed originally as the 3rd story to Chungking Express but then was made its own film. It feels completely on its own tho all that’s really the same is that it happened around by the same area and plays with the camera in similar ways, but Doyle (the cinematographer) is much more experimental here. Story is way different
I’d recommend it. It’s really not that similar but it was an extension of Chungking.
Been tryna watch this. Should I watch Chungking express first tho?
I just typed about this here ^
I would watch Chungking first tho even though it doesn’t really matter. It’s one of his immediate classics and if you love of it like a lot of people do it’ll be worth
I talked about Wong Kar-wai and this movie in your directors thread @op but damn you makin me wanna watch this
. Might do a double feature with this & In The Mood For Love
Need to dive deeper in Wong Kar-wai’s filmography. I saw In The Mood For Love but don’t know if I was in the right headspace and environment to properly understand and enjoy it, so I need to rewatch. Fallen Angels and Chungking Express been on my list for the longest

Yeah just threw on Fallen Angels yesterday with a friend because i had the soundtrack in my head
Cause i'm cool
so sad that HK entertainment has fallen. my fam is from HK, so HK movies are so nostalgic for me
It was beautifully shot with some very stylistic music choices but didn’t move me per se like Blue Valentine did. I do love how unique and creative the whole movie felt.

in the mood for love is the 2nd ?
in the mood for love is the 2nd ?
Nah I think you’re mixing up the 3 stories of Chungking Express (2 stories in here) / Fallen Angels (1) and the unofficial trilogy of Days Of Being Wild, In The Mood and 2046
In the latter yeah In the Mood is #2. It’s not specifically a sequel tho idk the main I remember atm that’s the same is Maggie Cheung plays a character with the same name and there’s clear stylistic similarities
in the mood for love is the 2nd ?
Nah Chungking Express has 2 stories in the film, Fallen Angels originally was suppose to be the 3rd story attached to that movie.
does anyone know anything about that 4K restoration?
