I can understand most arguments about stripping the title having no real impact and that the memories for the fans and the players will never go away, and that’s certainly true. And if this was a team with a ton of championships like the Yankees or the Cardinals, I might have voted no, but this is the Astros. This is their only World Series win. You take this away, they have no trophy to show off, no banner to hang up, no rings to wear, no anniversaries to celebrate, and nothing to brag about. And the most embarrassing thing of all? Next time they win the World Series, they have to announce they’ve won their first official World Series in franchise history – how awkward, but hilarious for the rest of us.
