thread inspired by the memory of Lil Wop and Lil Nyquil, both signed to Gucci’s label and yet they have never been heard by anyone ever
Also thinking of when Cash Money aigned Limp Bizkit and Paris Hilton in like 2012 the f*** was up with that
i saw a headline a few years ago about how lil wop claimed to be spending 40k or some s*** on d**** and i still dont know how he affords that. every label has those kinda artists on it, and i dont think people care about gucci's current stuff like they used to
Cash Money just had money to blow bruh
The birdman oil fields were plentiful that year, damn

I wonder how many rappers have f***ed up their deals by spending advances like they were paychecks

🤤 oh yes....
Most of YMCMBs 2010s roster
Slaughterhouse to Shady. They were never going to blow up even if they had full creative control and I think Joe Budden needs to accept that part of it at some point.
Teyana Taylor to GOOD. She makes good music and I'm a fan but her music doesn't sell enough for her bursts of anger during the Wyoming era to be worth it imo.

sometimes i wonder if push is doing a bad job bc just going off the projects released on good since he took over, a lot of the non pusha/kanye albums have either been bad quality wise, did poor numbers, or both

True.
I'm a big Push fan musically but his run probably has yielded the worst results overall, outside of himself and Ye.
Teyana and Desiigner both voicing their displeasures also paints a bad image of GOOD.
But I do feel like a lot of the blame should go to Ye because Ye should be guiding the direction of the label on some level. He has all these great ideas for himself outside of music, but he really doesn't seem to invest enough into the GOOD artists' individual careers consistently enough imo.
Euro , anyone signed too curren$y, grand hustle, lil boat, Sir and chevy woods
