What he said in that random interview wasn't an official announcement. He probably intends/hopes to have the album finished by this summer but that doesn't mean it'll actually happen.

All I'm saying is that Drake USUALLY has singles off his album months before the album is ready to go. That's been the case with all his albums, except this one.

For some reason, it feels like he wants to be done with the whole thing (probably including visuals) before dropping and I really do think he isn't done with the album yet. I think he's scrapped several iterations of what was supposed to be the album and that's why he's just held back from giving any more information.

Either way, he isn't moving like someone who is ready to drop an album soon and his album is one of the top 3 most anticipated albums of the year. He isn't going to drop a single one week and drop the album the next week. He simply won't do that.

Why won't he drop a single? He needs something to carry the album and I bet he drops more than 1 single before the album drops.

The staples of Scorpion were 3 massive #1 singles. You're joking if you think Drake doesn't want something similar to that for his next album.
