  • Would he have been big in the 90s

I mean his competition was fierce especially his whole shtick was dominated by prominent rappers like

    • Pac
    • Nas
    • RZA
    • GZA
    • ATCQ
    • Common
    • Hov

He undeniably would not have been able to carve his own space within that field

Studying the rebrand Kendrick really benefited a lot by the woke academy and the poster critic darling

Sounds like a diatribe you could’ve kept in the other 5000 Kendrick threads open

  • Are you telling me that if Money Trees dropped in the 90s it would be considered unremarkable? Are you actually trying to convince people that this is true?

Sounds like sounds like I have no idea what diatribe means

  • Yea would have fit right in

  • Hmmm you bring up some good points OP, but what I really want to express here is

    yes

aside from aspects of outkast, pac and tribe there wasn't a mainstream everyman in rap that was a consistent force for years until kanye and he would have filled that lane at a time when dre was closer to his prime and snoop/em had their peak superpowers and pac and 50 cent (dre) would have bookended or prefaced his debut, could have lowkey marketed him on some black em s*** lol

he would have been the snoop (the chronic) of detox and it actually may have come out
