We’ve seen Verzuz for the living but nowadays they’re nothing special. Just having DJs spin on behalf of the artists so what’s the point in limiting it to just living artists anyway aside from “moral” reasons?
They've been doing stuff like that on the radio for years so I don't see why it would be unethical.
Just cause an artist is dead doesn't stop people from listening to their music or comparing it to others.
Like say if they ever were to do a Prince vs MJ Verzuz. Get Sheila E and Quincy Jones to represent Prince and MJ respectively. During the show they give some interesting tidbits about songs, albums, and both artists and that'd make for a great time
because that's a shiesty cash grab and would make the organizers look bad
Or any money made from the show can be put towards charities/foundations the estates of those dead artists are affiliated with...?
Listen y'all just cause some artists are dead doesn't mean playing their music is automatically a sign of disrespect or a cash grab
The whole point of Verzuz battles is to celebrate the musical legacy and hits of artists anyway.
