So I have court in the morning and am probably going to be offered a deal along the lines of dropping my 2 felony counts to misdemeanors, having to spend up to 3 months on house arrest, and 3 years probation.

im heavily considering asking my lawyer to tell the DA i'd rather serve a month or so in county jail or maybe extended house arrest with the charges dropped to misdemeanors than have to spend 3 years on probation.

would yall do it? i just feel like im bound to def f*** up being on probation that long and i'd just absolutely hate life for 3 years.

county jail? hell nah. 3 years really ain’t that bad especially depending on the type of probation you get. annoying but that s*** will fly by and usual if you not wilding after awhile the check ins not even that frequent.

now if you could get house arrest and a shorter probation i’d go for that most definitely.

It all depends on if you can stop by yourself. Sounds like you cant so maybe probation would be better. Its really easy to stop when the alternative is jail

It's gonna be soul wrenching either way. If it were me, I'd do the month in jail if it was a GUARANTEED that you're off. 3 years probation is soul crushing.

honestly: do the time. A month is just short enough to go a little crazy. I just did a month sober. 2 weeks just turned to 3 and the last week just turned into a W. So easy to see the light on a month versus being a system slave for years

Take the probation and get your life together

Don’t matter what you choose tbh. If you f*** up which it sounds like you will your ass will end up in jail at some point soon again anyway. That 1 month is just the beginning.
