theres this album that was last reissued on vinyl back in 2010. its producer is on record saying it probably wont see another reissue due to sample clearances that would, at best, massively alter the album's presentation. as a result, there are now very few copies for sale and most of them start at 200 for super used copies and 300 for the newer ones
its one of my favorite albums ever (and its a classic album that most people know) so having it on wax would be a huge deal for me, but would you do it? bonus points to whoever figures out which album im talking about, its a rap album
EDIT: see page 4

if it makes you happy, buy it. What is $300 in the grand scheme of life?
I copped the Mach Hommy - Brand Name Craft Single for 220 from Ebay. If it's what you want, go get it.
If this is an album that dropped in the past 5 years, hell no. Maybe if it was an album with a lot of nostalgia. Idk, physicals just collect dust. Should sell the ones I already have. Pointless collectibles

It's absolutely some s*** like this or a rare Jpeg Mafia tape isn't it

I first started thinking about this back when they took off The Ecstatic off of streaming. I feel like that was one of the first instances of me seeing streaming for what it truly was -- a convenient rental option that could be taken from you at any moment. I got my copy of Ecstatic on wax yesterday and the price did bite (I got a good deal though it felt like) but it didnt bother me bc I now knew I got one of my favorite albums straight up in my possession

de la soul?
de la soul?
they got their whole catalog reissued this year so its not super expensive now
If there’s a high chance of it not seeing a reissue and if it were an album I truly loved? Then absolutely.
those go for 150 mostly, they reissued the cold vein too but its a very very weird pressing made by very very weird people

Im dying to know. please. spill the beans.
no

so I guess they sold distribution to some company called ihiphop distribution and they sell random underground albums and the company just looks weird and shady. so much so that they did rerelease The Cold Vein, but on FOUR LPs bundled with instrumentals. their official unboxing video was shot in a bedroom and dude was throwing that vinyl around being very rough with it for some reason. I read discogs reviews saying that the inner sleeves are too blurry and it arrives beaten up, but the actual record sounds good. and it's $100 which is why I haven't bought it. I know why they did it but for me personally thats a bit unnecessary
jay z - reasonable doubt?
dam s***s so expensive now I haven't checked it in a while. but no thats not it
