Yeah old & new, and I grew up with it by my parents who were also hiphop heads from the 80s to 2005ish back when we lived in the Bayarea.

Used to watch a lot of interviews n s*** as a teen in my free time too to learn a lot, & I was heavy into the underground of the first half of 2010s going to lotta shows irl & discovering lotta s*** online.

I've been disconnected for the last two years or so tho.

Nah not anymore, I haven't lived there for a decade now & heard a lot of s*** different with gentrification n s***. I lived there since birth during the hyphy era & moved out in 2008 as a teen iirc.

I can tell you the do nots tho if you're not from there. Don't go to East Oakland or the Crest of Vallejo if it's the same. Outsiders not welcome & it might get real aggressive haha. My father is originally from the Crest tho & my Gma lived there so I've been a few times.

There are a lot of cool local things tho, the art & music scene is huge in the Bay. Check out some local places in SF. SF has a few rough spots too, but overall it's friendly than any other big place.

If you have friends that live there & aren't snooty people that never been outside their street, then asking them would be the best bet.

When it comes to the dudes I idolize and favor over other artists, I know most everything there is to know. But I didn’t used to fw hip hop like that so I had to get into the old s*** late. Better late than never
