So my friend is starting a company and works a regular job that makes around 2-300k a year sometimes more. The business has some solid investors in the corner and he’ll have to quit his job to work full time. Obviously as an entrepreneur, have to cut costs so max salary would be 100k. It’s making him uneasy because once you start a business with investors, can’t really quit and it’s a massive paycut. What would you do in this situation?
300k that's crayz bro congrats to your buddy what's his address if i may ask?
You're betting on yourself. A lot of business owners (techincally) have no salaries to $1 salaries.

Oh no a measly $100k after years of making $300k and no doubt having money in the bank what will he do
If anything he should be taking a ~$50k salary and minimizing costs, especially if he's coming from a cushy corporate job
what type of business is it, what is his ownership stake?
what does he do now for work?
lots of variables

happiness is worth more the cheese man. id suggest to stack the nest egg & then go all in. no point in regretting not doing it on your death bed
Are his workers gonna be satisfied and is he pushing a quality product or is this just a money making scheme

it's better than completely starting a business solo .Most people get next to zero support outside of a loan. very few business owners have serious investors of 100k+. if he's making 300k rn then he's obviously pretty highly skilled in his field. Honestly most people who start business would probably be happier, make more money, have more free time, have health insurance etc if they just kept a job. BUT: if the business idea is sound enough to get this funding and he's ok with the level of risk / high likelihood of it not working then I'd probably tell him to do it.
100k is enough to live a good livestyle for a while as long as he doesn't have kids. I say go for it he could make 500k in a few years

yeah, if its something he would regret not doing on the death bed, he should 100% do it.

Nah, with the VC world, you’re pretty much a slave to them because they want to make money so startup founders typically work more
