if you simply type "ramriddlz" into your streaming service of choice you'll see he dropped a project this year.
he lost his america privileges at a pivotal time in his career
Yup. One of the biggest bag fumbles in recent history. The f***ed up thing is without Ram dancehall/hip hop influence there would be no one dance or controlla which ultimately ended up creating the whole hip hop/dancehall wave we saw in 2016-17
Ram described p**** in so many ways these last 10 years there has to be a conversation of his pen’s greatness.
It was an influx of that particular sound getting mainstream play and Ram just not evolving at all with his writing. When an artist starts doing sequels to a nostalgic album it’s a clear sign of either a fall off or a lack of artistic inspiration.
He needed a writer or editor. Great beats and flow but sometimes he was doing too much with the lyrics
Somehow he’s so big in New Delhi, especially after that crazy line on that song with Carti
I more or less kept up with his music very closely up until 2021 or so, you can prob still message him on snapchat and he'll likely respond. imo he combines pop music with a really weird personality and vocals, idk if there's really a market for that. further, he's had maybe 4-7 songs post-Sweeterman that could've been hits, but he never signed with any labels so his music had zero marketing push really. in conclusion, guy never did anything to stop the "you get five years in the music industry and then you lose your chance" narrative from playing out
Idk if I’m tripping but wasn’t there a video to this? Either way, this is from his album he dropped earlier this year. Classic ram

he's talented and has a good ear for production and melodies but clearly needs to work with a writer. i appreciate him being casual and tongue-in-cheek but realistically his lyrics are alienating from any of this songs going mainstream or being hits (promotion/marketing aside). a lot of his singles from the past few years (esp. the ones w/ videos) actually are really strong but they're so unserious
