microsoft’s end goal i think is to have a completely enclosed ecosystem system, like apple does, but more restricted so they can monopolize it.

i doubt in the next 20 years, windows will allow steam for example on their new os. theyre probably going to force their own game download service etc.

windows is just going to become this closed data mining ai ecosystem i think.

its why valve is making steam os, so if microsoft does do that, they wont go bankrupt.

Sony trying to do that with like their console, which is not as big of a deal.

long story short obviously what you said is what microsoft is doing. They were the first to try to make a console online mandatory and restrict trading games and stuff years ago even though they walked it back

this is also why windows has gotten worse and worse even though they spent over 30 years working on it.

they have a monopoly since most people have to currently use windows for the majority of computer related stuff.

people arent going to switch to linux unless its more user friendly and has more compaditiblty. theres no reason to improve windows, youre better off profit wise to extract as much data from the trapped customer.

but when steamOS (which is linux) becomes more situated, it will probably be more user friendly than either windows or regular linux.

apple’s market share of computers is a different user base, but im pretty apple os is a form of linux as well.

windows is an ungodly amount of poor UI its like a masterclass in how to make the worst UI of all time. it wouldnt take much to clear it.

even though apple computers have huge drawbacks, people i think mostly buy them because the few things that do work on it actually work very well and the interface and bugs are much better

Good feature since I hop from game to game whenever I’m playing but doesn’t help much since this consoles been buggy as s*** all year
