These were the s***, why did they go away
i remember unlocking the grifball hammer for my dude by playing reach
i feel like the streamlining of menus has led to a reduction in overall aesthetic experience, what do u think? should they bring ti back?
i remember there being a glitch with microsoft points where you could infinitely generate new 180 (?) msp codes from an email promotion by changing a character in the url. my friends and i went HARD on that and bought a hell of a lot of different costumes, which made the avatars even better
at this point, i could not care any less about avatars or anything like that. though i thought it was really cool back in the day.

"m2arp, i am hosting a 10th prestige lobby. 1600 msp or 3months of gold"
the best part about them was all the indie games that used them as the character i miss those smaller xbox arcade and indie games

reminds me of one time a dude told me he'd get me in a 10th prestige lobby for 250 headshots, spent like an hour doing it then he kicked me from the party and blocked me

Dorito’s Crash Course used avatars right?

I think because culturally we've moved past the point of avatars. Like yes we have profile pictures which in a way give a sense of personality to the other users we interact with but idk I don't wanna sit around and play digital dress up, like also they just kind stood there and existed. I know in some games you could use them but few did and they always looked out of place unless the game's design was centered around avatars, so I never wanted to.
Idk even if you were to bring them back like Playstation Home I think the era of virtual chatrooms/third places are mostly dead outside the VR space and really don't appeal to the general populous
I remember the glitch where you can get secret colors lol.
Also Doritos Crash Course and 1vs100 was so lit. Good times.

you just mentioned VR where they're not dead
its optional anyway but i'd say we havent moved past the point where theyre useful at all
the psn avatars suck ass for the most part, i enjoyed the premium avatars on ps3 more than we got for the ps4
