This industry is brutal, Xbox is the worst of it but feels like most of western game development is coming to a devastating endpoint
I was really looking forward to these games.
Xbox lost the plot
Downhill since the goat console, the 360 smh
Xbox has fumbled so hard. Might be one of the greatest generational fumbles I’ve witnessed.
Gaming industry beyond cooked
I prefer my Series X to my PS5 by a mile but it definitely feels in a really weird way Gamepass was actually a bad thing for Microsoft

How?

they're doing the best thing this industry has ever seen, some can't see it idk why.
How?
Training your audience not to buy games and expect all your exclusives at a price rate that’s not sustainable for a company . the size of the gamepass user base simply isn’t enough
I’d rather gamepass costs $50-60 if it meant making it a more profitable venture that allowed more experimental games idk. There’s def another price hike coming soon on top of all these lay offs.
something weird is happening man
they’re legit gonna stop making and end support for their consoles in the next couple years and just morph back into activision with a couple extra studios at the rate they’re going

S*** if they can get 360 games properly emulated on pc I won’t be too mad
idk why people still think that they’re actually gonna make that next gen console they announced
the writing is on the f***ing wall now

I don't know if i'd say they trained their audience not to buy games. Games just got too expensive, they're now 70$ - 80$.
The general audience these days already have too many free-to- play games that can last them forever, spending this much on a single game just doesn't look like a good deal. Plus people have been used to not buying their content for a while now, with spotify and netflix.
They just adjusted to this new scenario. And i personally like sub services, i like having instant access to a lot of content.
I think gamepass is not growing right now because it's still too closely tied to the xbox console and gaming PCs, they get limited by the amount of people who have the hardware.
They're gonna grow a lot more once they turn gamepass to a full streaming service, which they're currently transitioning to. Streaming is going to be key for growth just as it was for Netflix.
And before you come at me, cloud gaming does work and it is the future.

I think they'll do it, but it will be an expensive high end thing aimed at enthusiast. And it even might be a partnership with a 3rd party.
For the masses they'll push cloud gaming gamepass subscriptions.
