Microsoft being out of the console business isn't GOOD for gaming. I don't know what about that you are not understanding. Microsoft couldn't be a publisher only if Sony won't let their first party games on the console because of trust of exposing tech, game pass or whatever instilled rivalry. Those companies would be forced to consolidate or shutdown leading to all those people losing their jobs.

Which is all BAD. Same as if these Games as service Sony is investing so much in fail will lead to a loss of jobs which is also BAD.

Xbox 360 sold 3.5 times more consoles than the OG Xbox. In comparison the PS2 sold 155 million but the PS3 sold 87 million. The PS3 sold almost half as much as the PS2.
