if elite series 2 goes down I might be forced to cop. Them not doing a Starfield Elite series 2 is a missed opportunity

Yeah this is some good stuff so far... I'll most definitely have more than 1 controller for my PC and one for the eventual Xbox I'll get whether they decide to do a mid-generation cycle upgrade or it'll just be the current Xbox Series X which I hope is cheaper by 2025-2026 as I don't feel like it's the right time for me to do it so far and hopefully so will the experience be good enough for me to justify getting the next Xbox in 2028 or whenever it drops

All a good call for now. I am doubting a generational refresh solely for the fact that no matter if they did a pro whatever drops would still have to run on series S. That gap between S , X , X Pro would be so drastic that it would game dev wise be kind of a nightmare. Then you add in 3 pc settings to calculate for too . That is getting the game to successfully run on 6 systems in a way

lol PS5 digital and PS5 disc are same specs. PS5 pro would bring them to two specs which isn't bad and is still realistic for a dev to handle.

Well if it's like that... So will I first get a PS5 Pro, PC, NS 2 (Or whatever it'll be called) which I do expect to play the NS games too and then... Whatever version of Xbox Series X is out by 2025-2027 which I hope is cheaper and has more than 1 TB of storage or that extra storage that can be bought is cheaper and over 2 TB's

Anyway I hope I'll feel like it'll be worth it as I want to at least try owning 1 Xbox console lol

And true lol yeah I feel like the developers won't mind a PS5 and PS5 Pro existing at the same time since the one with and without a disc do have the exact same specifications so it'll be just like developing a game for 2 PC's with each one of them having different specifications but aren't TOO different to the point where the first one is too outdated and therefore will hold back the game they're working on a lot.

this just reminded me my local electronic store is selling a series x for $650 and a series s for $320 they always have overpriced stuff btw

lol the issue with consoles right now isn't specs in anyway. Its them doing remake after remake. Not a wide enough of variety of IDEAS. That applies to sony too. Hifi Rush is viewed as one of the top games of the year with no spec issues. It is when everything has to be so AAA and expensive to make we get overly long games more focused on looking pretty than being inventive or fun to play. Which is why indie is giving us a variety of games. We REALLY REALLY don't need a mid gen refresh in 2024. We have barely gotten on unreal engine 5 or new engines. There are still this year ps4 versions of major titles lmfao. Gamers are so consumed with idea of 4k 60fps on games where the specs aren't realistic to expect from a 500$ console where the manufacturer already takes a loss or close to it.

the over focus on graphics over art styles is part of the detriment of gaming. Final Fantasy xvi looks pretty as f*** and has some dope moments. But at other times feels downright soul less. a PS5 Pro can't help every situation.

This generation has overall lacked for that reason.

But personally though... If there's a good balance between the latest and greatest hardware, remasters/remakes and new games including backwards compatibility... Then why not? So I do hope Sony etc. will figure out how to do this right in the next 2-3 years hopefully

Cause Sony can't even give us PS1,2,3 BC instead they give us streaming of those games or sell them to us AGAIN AND AGAIN. When I would rush to get a pro if it had BC support to something past 4

I want him to have fun either way lol . I am overall saying I want s*** to be even more fun in general. If sony drops more that interest me I will have more interest in a pro. Final Fantasy ran well enough to me where the issues didn't detract from the fun
