If they launch their next xbox as digital only with no disc version at all then go in but that isn't what this is indicating so much as cloud machine learning focus. Them trying to go entirely digital again would likely lead to the same results and hate they experienced. Also their internet isn't even at the point to have everyone on the servers, streaming, playing and AI learning at the same time. Local will still have its place.

But of course they going to keep aiming at more digital. Sending games to sit on store shelves and for trade in values only helps them so much. Same reason they started a parternship with Gamestop 3 years ago.

the console itself a terrible idea in many ways and unnecessary. If they launch it like that it won't go over well at all. For good reason. unless it can do some magic with cloud machine learning that their current consoles cannot.

personally seeing that just makes me worry about next gen being fully digital, there’s no reason for them to completely eliminate physical media in 4 years other than to have an iron grip over digital sales prices and push gamepass even more. Imagine they start moving like Nintendo and their exclusives that people don’t want to pay $18 monthly for never drop below $50-60 on the storefront
