They most likely bought it because Amazon or Apple were on the verge of buying Zenimax

Plus they still got PC players and mobile users which would still keep they pockets stuffed

the Bethesda model is to push their games on as many platforms as possible Xbox wants Bethesda to be running business as usual but now they get the profits

Microsoft doesnt really care about selling hardware anymore they care about selling gamepass

right? their titles have always been a multi-plat. just wouldnt make sense to MS to turn down places of revenue for the sake of exclusivity because thats just makes bethesda look less proftable

Regarding Elder Scrolls, I think it will become exclusive on xbox for a short time, say 3 to 6 months or it will become permanently exclusive.

So why didn’t they just make the same deal they made with EA?

I think Elder Scrolls VI is gonna be console exclusive to Xbox. I just don’t see Microsoft spending that money and keeping it on PlayStation. Remember last gen the story was “Microsoft doesn’t have any games” I think they wanna break that stigma. And like somebody mentioned if they wanted Zenimax just to put on Game Pass why didn’t they broker a deal like they did with EA. I believe Zenimax games will be on other platforms but PC and mobile platforms. They might throw a game or two on PS5 but we’ll see.

Microsoft wants game studios and to grow gamepass which is why they bought Bethesda. That doesnt mean Elder Scrolls will be exclusive that means games like Doom or the next Dishonored will be exclusive

Making Elder Scrolls exclusive is just a bad move

Making Elder Scrolls exclusive may be there best move if it brings in more subscribers to Game Pass. A subscriber can be far more valuable than a sell if they end up staying
