it's not open world and they have been working on it since the first game launched and it will be using the same engine
i expect October or November drop for it which is 2 years after the first game and Obsidian has 3 teams, one for Outer Worlds, one for Grounded and their main team on Avowed

think of it like more DLC for the first game but in the form of a full on game rather than 6-7 hours
itll be on the same engine and frame as the first game for sure and its technically a smart, cost efficient move by Obsidian
the first game sold 2 million so all they want is to repeat that process and walk away with 2 successful creative AND business ventures
