Don't see much reason to bother getting either on release with Halo pushed back and anything else still not even having gameplay shown
Get you a nice deal round black friday next year or 2022 for that matter
Cheap but there's no disc drive and digital releases of games do be stupidly more expensive than physical
In my experience I got everything cheaper digital. Gamesharing plus digital sales make everything dirt cheap for me
Do you guys think this console will hold back next gen games if developers have to develop for games with this console in mind? Will there be series X exclusives? Was thinking this might might be something I'd pick up down the line
I feel like MS has killed their chance of series X succeeding. That price point is just too tasty. Imagine if you only play cod, fifa etc. Why wouldn’t you get the series S? They’ve basically killed the series X before it even launched. I wonder if this was the plan from the beginning.
Sony got a tough time ahead IMO.

Because the series x is the most powerful console a 4k beast, you’re underestimating how many ppl want the most powerful machine. The series s will be the best selling because of its price but a large audience definitely exists for the series x

No it has the same cpu and ssd only difference is the gpu and vram, you would not need that same vram buffer for 1080p/1440p as you would need for 4k assets
What is the main difference besides all digital on the Series S? its still running games at 4K 120 FPS, is there a major component thats gonna make a big difference besides the disc drive?
Its not 4k 120 its 1440p 120 and it has a smaller ssd
This might lowkey outsell the series x

High key
Whats the point of releasing a console weaker than the Xbox One X. It's essentially a next gen console that's weaker than a current gen mid cycle console.
This a 4 teraflop console
While the Xbox One X is a 6 teraflop console and the Series X is a 12 teraflop console.

This is why Teraflops shouldn’t have been a marketing point, its not weaker this is 4Teraflops on a new gpu architecture those 4Teraflops equal 6Teraflops on the xbox one x gpu architecture

Ok that's better cause this seemed baffling
500 gigs is not enough space especially with games getting bigger and bigger.
The ssd will allow games to become smaller, it probably won’t be at launch or the first year but once game dev’s start building for an SSD the file will become smaller

Compared to the series x tho.... that’s 8 less terrashits

sure buddy believe that all you want.
Unless AMD announces on the fly GPU compression for these consoles, it won’t happen

That has nothing to do with amd Microsoft has it’s own asset compression its the same s*** Nvidia is using for RTX I/O

Doesn’t matter you don’t need the same speed to render 1080p/1440p at 120fps
That has nothing to do with amd Microsoft has it’s own asset compression its the same s*** Nvidia is using for RTX I/O
Yes it does cause AMD has the gpu chips on both ps5 and Xbox series x + s,
AMD has not announced and currently doesn’t have an equivalent of RTX I/o
Unless announced, the ssd’s won’t make the game any smaller.

How many people own a 4K tv and actually care about these details? The casuals won’t care. All those Wii owners for example.

Again MS is doing their own hardware compression it doesn’t matter if amd has it in their gpu or not
“
Hardware Accelerated Decompression: Game packages and assets are compressed to minimize download times and the amount of storage required for each individual game. With hardware accelerated support for both the industry standard LZ decompressor as well as a brand new, proprietary algorithm specifically designed for texture data named BCPack, Xbox Series X provides the best of both worlds for developers to achieve massive savings with no loss in quality or performance. As texture data comprises a significant portion of the total overall size of a game, having a purpose built algorithm optimized for texture data in addition to the general purpose LZ decompressor, both can be used in parallel to reduce the overall size of a game package. Assuming a 2:1 compression ratio, Xbox Series X delivers an effective 4.8 GB/s in I/O performance to the title, approximately 100x the I/O performance in current generation consoles. To deliver similar levels of decompression performance in software would require more than 4 Zen 2 CPU cores.“

Their is still an audience for it is what I’m saying so it will succeed in that audience, just how the xbox one x sold at a faster rate than any other xbox ppl want that high end bleeding edge s***.
