Whats the point of releasing a console weaker than the Xbox One X. It's essentially a next gen console that's weaker than a current gen mid cycle console.

    This a 4 teraflop console
While the Xbox One X is a 6 teraflop console and the Series X is a 12 teraflop console.

The people who play the same 3-4 games is what its for

Honestly if you can’t afford a 300$ console straight up you got bigger problems to be focusing on than gaming

smiley is for the series x being dead on arrival lol

    i agree with that

Nah how I initially saw it is Microsoft admitting that they can’t compete with Ps5 console/game-wise. So they hit us with thus super cheap and quite frankly unmissable deal (in my opinion).

Instead of trying to get PS gamers to convert to the fridge, theyre going to get PS gamers to purchase the speaker on top of the ps5. That’s why I think the fridge is DOA. The only people who will purchase the fridge are the day 1 xboxers.

It could lead to a lot of people switching over in the long term, especially if that Game Pass becomes a necessary thing like Netflix.

It’s parents that are gonna be buying these things for those gamers

If parents have to FINANCE a 300$ console they got bigger problems

Kinda wild since all the leaks point to microsoft having the more powerful console

I don’t see it as financing the console, but paying for Game Pass with a console thrown in.

Yeah but those are the super casuals
They barely even care if a game like RDR2 drops or god of war

    from: mspoweruser.com/xbox-all-access-is-microsoft-next-gen-console

For Xbox Series X, Microsoft is asking for a monthly payment of $35.

Xbox Series S is just $25.

Xbox All Access doesn’t just give subscribers a console. Microsoft could’ve gotten away with the bare minimum, but the deal has been sweetened. The subscription comes with a bonus: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate!

They will. I’m a Router boy from day 1, but I’ll be copping the speaker in a year or two.

No it has the same cpu and ssd only difference is the gpu and vram, you would not need that same vram buffer for 1080p/1440p as you would need for 4k assets

That's good to know then, seems like a pretty big move for Microsoft

Didn't know performance would go down that much on Series S. Might have to go for PS5 Digital

    SUPER BOWL SOSS

Didn't know performance would go down that much on Series S. Might have to go for PS5 Digital

it's the exact same CPU though?

and the GPU isn't far off, still much better than the Xbox One

just with 6GB less ram, not needed though because 4K cache sizes are massive and that's why the Series X needs the 16GB

  • Sep 8, 2020

Apparently the series s is super small, damn MS might have made an xbox that could actually sell in Japan if they get Japanese dev support

  • $300 Xbox Series S? Looks like I’m coming back to Microsoft next gen
