she got backlash for being sexual and her music videos, she never got backlash for being a literal sexual predator. no one gave a s*** about artists being pedophiles back then, people like david bowie were having s***with like underaged teenage girls too. the difference is whenever someone makes a david bowie thread here or elsewhere, people still mention it. no one ever brings it up about her. i can separate the artist from the art, her music is fine and i appreciate her influence, but she's a piece of s*** and i'm not giving her a pass for being a weirdo just because she's a woman

my point is that (in modern times) celebrities get s*** all the time for being s***freak weirdos but she's managed to elude it by being like "haha it's just part of my image, it's just shock value" and using it as an excuse for being a predator. i just think it's gross and the point of my first post was that i'm surprised given how common digging s*** up is and how lots of other celebrities are held to account for stuff from 40-50 years ago that nothing she's done has ever bit her in the ass. i don't think that's irrational

There is no real consistent history of her being a predator. That’s why your only “proof” is a fictional story and a supposed vague interview from 5 decades ago that is not easily findable. Why the hell WOULD she be receiving backlash and cancelled over that little amount of “proof”?

Otherwise, her image has just been a woman embracing sexuality and not concerned with how it offends men. The fact you are alluding to her as a “sex freak weirdo” shows you clearly are intimidated and giving lowkey loser vibes. She did receive a huge amount of (unnecessary) backlash and cancellation even then for her image but over time it meant nothing because she was truly innovative for women and embracing sexuality.

there exists the book she wrote which depicts the teenage s***thing, which while fictional, still exists

there's a book called the "i hate madonna handbook" which she packaged with her human nature CD and was approved by her which contains the following passages, and was not purported to be fictional unlike her other book:

there are also old interviews which you're right i cannot find at the moment which are on me.

there is also the time she ripped off an underage girls' shirt on stage, and at least 2 other times she groped teenagers during concerts

there are also several stories from backstage dancers of her who said they felt pressured into having s***with her because of the power dynamic and keeping their job

people dig up stuff all the time on celebrities, and some celebrities (i.e. Bowie) are clearly more guilty than others and have done things in more open air

i am saying that DESPITE ALL OF THIS EXISTING, i am simply surprised that there has not been a discussion about it compared to other celebrities who WAY MORE OBSCURE stuff has been dug up and they have been canceled over. i am not saying some weird vendetta grudge thing against her, i am just saying that there clearly exists enough stuff where if someone wanted to they could get traction on twitter or wherever to get people angry about her, which is very common for old artists. i am also saying SEPARATELY the reason i feel this has not happened is because she has been so influential for sexuality in music (which i do not think is a bad thing), that that has overshadowed people's desire to dig s*** up about them if they were just a regular artist otherwise. my point is literally just that it is surprising nothing has ever bit her in the ass because even very out-of-context but damning s*** has bit lots of other artists in the ass, but she's escaped it despite having a more egregious history (which is likely due to her reliance on shock value throughout her career, which has coincidentally caused stuff like this which would otherwise bite a lot of clebrities in the ass to be thrown away/disregarded). i do not think this is that illogical or irrational
