Kiss Land was Weeknd’s best album and forever will be. This s*** jus hit me listening to this record for the thousandth time faded. And it was always up there in the top 3 but for the timing in his career it was exactly what it should have been but was simply misunderstood by the masses. It was his core sound that blew him up but taken to such a more cinematic, more expensive, bigger level. This s*** was Trilogy taken to number one Endgame best selling movie of all time cinematic levels and not everybody appreciated it’s ambition. Point blank period. Most movies have a soundtrack to accompany it. This was a soundtrack that should have had a movie to accompany it.

This was one record where I punished myself and avoided all leaks other than singles he officially released himself and I remember tearing into that CD packaging on release date and throwing that mf in like a child and that s*** murdered me track by track and since 2013 that is the last and only album to have that kind of effect on me.

F*** chart singles and sales that’s all yall care about. Impact and effect alone? Nothing will touch Kiss Land til after 2030 suck my d***. Kiss Land was Abel’s magnum opus and was exactly what he should have been aiming for as a major label debut and I feel sorry that he seems to feel ashamed of it and tries to forget that it exists. It’s an absolute masterpiece.

Except he doesn’t feel ashamed of it, he loves that album. Fools just love to s*** on it for absolutely no reason. Hell he even said it’s the only album he’d ever make a sequel too

Never really cared for KL that much honestly it is dope to listen to here and there but probably my least favorite project by him.

It’s the only album he doesn’t perform even one song from live anymore. Technically he doesn’t perform anything from Thursday or Echoes Of Silence either, but since it’s all been lumped as Trilogy since then, you can say he still performs Trilogy in general. Performs BBTM, Starboy, and MDM. But not a single song from Kiss Land.

Kissland grew on me heavy. Hated it at first but now it’s most of what I listen to from him. I feel like the 5 best songs on KL sound like good p**** and they are timeless but I can’t stand the other songs.

tbh not for me but aint mad at it. the concept inspired by one of my favorite movies too. Kiss Land low-key one of the best projects of the decade
