Bruh I’ve been on here since 2013
I was s*** on daily just for listening to Lil Wayne loll this site has always been full of ppl that love to hate
If I post positive threads about artists it is met with “Who?” Or gets 0 posts
Ur not understanding that the way I act is a consequence of how I’ve been treated
Lmao fym “who cares”? My point is that it’s nonsensical to argue that the reason why we don’t like this music is because we’re simply “out of touch” when so many statistics are indicating that rap isn’t as salient with music lovers anymore. If you TRULY believe that we’re out of touch, you’re gonna have to also accept the logical conclusion, which is that nearly everyone except 100 people on this site are also out of touch. Do you see now how ridiculous that sounds? Lol it sounds ridiculous because that ISNT the case. The reality is that the music isn’t good. That’s why it isn’t connecting
numbers only matter when it supplements their agendas

I think you telling me about the artists you worked hard digging up is a better in the long term honestly instead of the I'm better than you thing

No it’s not bc the threads get 0 posts and won’t even be seen after 10 minutes
Look at my thread history and notice how the positive threads have barely any responses (and I still post them)

Bro I get you, I think most people have been bashed for their music taste at one point or another. I don’t think that means you have no choice but to get on a high horse about being “in touch” with zoomer rap. I joined in 2015 and i doubt hardly anybody who bashed you for listening to lil Wayne (my fav rapper) is even still here. that last post literally sounded like you were trying to recruit people into a cult lol
See this is what I mean when I say yall are out of touch. Niggas like Lonely and them got hundreds of millions to billions of plays this year. Y’all told us Yeat was a meme. Y’all said YB was ass. Veeze is making waves
All these artists have active conversations around them and communities outside of KTT but it’s not what you grew up on so it’s ass
The genre you love used to be loved by people like me, of which there are many also on here. It used to transcend places like this and influence the musical landscape. New hiphop records used to be played in clubs, private businesses, and be incorporated in elementary talent shows and s***. New hiphop artists used to be recognizable western celebrities (western in the political geographic sense) and doing film scores and s***. NONE of this happens anymore. If you want to keep pretending like the artists you support are putting out good music and aren't actively destroying the genre, that’s on you

I don’t care about that s***. I only care about the music. Y’all are pop culture fans not music fans.
Why the f*** would I care if a restaurant or f***ing business lobby is playing a Carti song lol
It’s actually telling that you thought this was actually a legit response mane

That wasn’t my point
My point is making threads based on me positively recommending them does nothing and gets zero replies
Threads where I take an argumentative angle (which I do genuinely believe) actually get replies

So you’d rather be disingenuous to get people to listen and reply instead of genuinely share something knowing they won’t respond?
MAYBE
That means people don’t give a f*** about the music they keep saying they don’t like and are only responding to bait threads because the claim is so outrageous and that day they have time
If the music itself can’t get a response what does that tel you? you sound like you’re entitled to your threads getting attention.
Chicago niggas really had it
!https://youtu.be/9qVGipVdut0?si=yOkoOUk_a4ZduY0Kthis a classic lmaoo
Y'all are talking past each other rn
None of this is really about the cultural relevance of hip hop, it's about people's feelings when discussing music
One side is using an insult ("you don't get it because you're out of touch") to disregard the reactions of others and prop up their own opinion
And the other side is responding more intensely than they should to the music they don't like because they feel insulted by the people who do like it
Ultimately, we don't have this 400+ post thread about ageism and the cultural relevance of hip hop if people knew how to talk to each other respectfully, but they don't

Since you need help understanding the things that i I’m saying, I’ll be more clear: the reason why none of that happens anymore is because your favorite music objectively sucks and my evidence is the overwhelming rejection of it, even by ACTUAL hiphop fans like me. It would be ONE thing if only casuals (people who only like Drake or some s***) were rejecting it, but people within your own community are doing so as well. If you want to keep being showered on by piss and telling yourself that it’s raining, do your thing guy

I stopped reading after “objectively sucks” tbh.
Some s*** you’d see from a pretentious smarmy redditor
Well then you are bringing it on to yourself
Yes bc I got hate for years regardless so why not just embrace it
Every thread I make I see at least one person check out the music and say it isn’t half bad
If I can convert 1 person a thread I’m doing my part
