not every rapper needa rap about therapy man
Yall always be jumping to this conclusion whenever people have any criticism of a rapper lmao
A nigga could be like yeah i do think he could dig a little deeper concept wise, and niggas be like “you want him to rap about taxes???”
If you want to be out of touch that’s cool but don’t complain when niggas push rappers on here that you’re not interested in listening to
Exactly
Like bro its a music forum everyone should post what they like
It’s hilarious when underground rap fans call people out of touch for not knowing underground rappers when almost nobody knows them, hence them being underground
drill already dead going into 2024
everybody broke or a crash out
drill has been “dead” every year according to people but it’s still around and growing so
It's honestly more out of touch to ride the coattails of music geared for youthful generations, of which may or may not be mediocre, simply because it's temporally "new", even if it's musically redundant, than to start looking for that out-of-the-way, weird, "mysterious" s*** once the hype around teenage/college-aged-oriented music fizzles out for you as you age out of that bracket.
If you genuinely enjoy that music, that's dope, be yourself. But a lot of praise given to some guys on here just feels like it's either hyperbolic or deliberately trying hard to seem cool in the eyes of teenagers. If you're old enough to get into a bar legally and you're worried about impressing high school kids...you're the out of touch one lmao
Being "in touch" is bumping that mysterious s*** but not being a snob about it
Riding trends is only cool when you're the target demographic for that trend as a consumer. It's lame otherwise, but if you genuinely like something that happens to be trendy, that's perfectly fine too. But you can tell when people are forcing it

Like you can avoid being a crotchety oldhead without going into the "Hello Fellow Kids" routine.
I genuinely love Travis Scott but I'm 28 bro I can't stand up and jump around for 3 hours in a mosh pit anymore and never liked doing that to begin with. Doesn't mean I can't go to his shows, but I got no business being in GA anymore, it's for the kids and that's cool, let them have that. Don't be the old guy trying to look cool to kids, it just makes them think you're weirder when they probably weren't thinking much about you at all beforehand
Using the Travis example because I saw him live last night AND HE PLAYED NIGHTCRAWLER
this thread would be valid if what OP was saying wasn't a part of a proven cycle of becoming a bitter ass oldhead type who just yaps about anything new being released whether good or not without no real effort put into even understanding what the appeal may be
Nah I feel like the music sucks
Cause I listen to a lot of young nigga music like yeat and s*** before he blew up and it’s good
A lot of the s*** just sucks tho

Nigga named Cisco Swank
Bro I went to Spotify to listen to his s***, clicked the first song and of course it was some generic neo soul flavored rap.
Come on dawg why the f*** would I listen to that over some Ken Carson
!https://youtu.be/m_syCrTx2O8?si=_r1CBzEkPLgWgaYfUr so opium bro
Yeah sure I guess
!https://youtu.be/jb7nJEAwbyM?si=YAfGa_mjYGUsWC6HThis s*** sound like a whale getting its d*** sucked by the finest mermaid
Idk if that's a complement or insult but yea
both sides are doing too much.
if the music sounds good idc what they be rappin about.
fact is tho most of them are talentless hacks and thats why we dont rate them, it's not us who are growing out of touch or whatever yall claim

What would be wrong with a 28 year old person liking famous Dex???
Famous Dex has classics under his belt and has a lot of good music
U guys are so dumb u just equate anything u don’t like as music for kids 💀💀
