Theres a reason why uzi is so loved and he was at the forefront of this whole new wave of rappers

Out of his peers he’s top tier category

Im not comparing him to other gen rappers

Just don't see how you can believe that if you've been listening to Uzi since he came out
Last 5 years, only 1 of those years he dropped good music and it was '16; since then it's been the same variation of songs over and over

I understand where you coming from since its common knowledge that u dont fw Uzi, but as someone who’s been following him closely i heard all the leaks he dropped and thats where u really see his qualities (features as well, he literally enhances almost every song he has a verse on minus this whole collab album)

See, being a Uzi fan is frustrating for me because i understand why ppl would think less of him if they only listened to his released songs. I think Uzi has so much potential that we still haven’t fully seen.

I’m very critical of him for that reason. But yeah he has an amazing flow and crazy voice inflections that not many of his peers can match. Most of the trap influenced subgenre ends up being too samey sounding for me (Lil baby, gunna etc) these are artists i dont care for, but Uzi just has something special imo

That being said i don’t listen to as much new artists and music as i did before so it’s partly me latching on to what i can still appreciate from earlier experiences

I still enjoy all of his earlier tapes, lot of great memories attached w them, but I guess as the years have passed I've outgrown the type of music he continually makes
But at this point, I think he just got comfortable because he knows he has the highschool/college demographic eating out of his hand no matter the quality so he ain't trying
But there's whole lot of newer artists u missing out on
Same applies to Future for me

And i don't really believe in outgrowing that type of music. It's not like i didn't realize his music had no substance back when i was 18 or smth

Doesn't mean i can't still enjoy his music for the qualities that i always thought he had. Flow, delivery & overall prescense on a track

I actually think EA era is his prime form so far but he should have dropped the album earlier or renamed the album we eventually got a few years later

Old uzi you referring to was also pretty basic just saying yah yah yah and s*** over and over

I don't understand if you like '16 Uzi how you don't at least respect songs like this where he just goes tf off

It all just feels the same to me, he hasn't changed anything
My taste just over it at this point, and you right, Uzi was never making anything more than surface level music but it was something enjoyable for the time, and at this point I might enjoy it from a nostalgia standpoint more than anything else
