"I'll tell y'all outright this game will be divisive as hell because it requires you to commit. There's no easy paths forward, no free boss fights. You're gonna struggle learning controls at first, getting upgrades, getting stat points, but for those that dive deep it truly is one of the most rewarding games I've played. I never expected the Metacritic score to be high because frankly, it's anti-"traditional media reviewer". I saw people in the review discord complaining about boss fights, meanwhile they had 26 skill points to my 78 and they were trying to blast through the game.

Reviewers that spent 2 weeks in review feeling rushed to reach an ending will absolutely resent it. Meanwhile I spent my 2 weeks enjoying the hell out of the game at my own pace, going on adventures, solving puzzles, and upgrading my dude to become a god in combat. This is the kind of game you'll see streamers playing for 6 months straight still discovering new s*** and having a blast, but people that approached it as "I need to review this" rather than for the love of the game were never going to enjoy it.

Hmmm...ok so a 78. Damn definitely lower than I was expecting but the complaints don't scare me away. Just looking at this game it looks fkn incredible man I'm honestly a little shocked. I knew it was going to be docked but I thought it'd at least for sure land in the 80s.

Oh well though, even though reviews are fun to watch or read, I'm glad I always form my opinion on this s***

Crazy people act like the game is straight trash just because it's not getting a super high score. 78 is still really good even if a lot of us thought it would be higher.

I figured if I can beat elden ring this won't be that bad. What ive noticed in reviews is the disparity between regular enemies and bosses. Regular enemies are just easy fodder, so then you'll get to the bosses and be like wtf

Idk if thought he was pretty fair about what he loved and didnt. He s***ted on em a bit when it comes to just plain s***ty side quests.

I think he overplays his passion nerdy side in videos but idk. I think he was genuine. Especially when you have problems with a game and a dev team fixes it within 30 minutes of you asking. I see why he might have a positive bias towards it.
