..Generally speaking, 06-10 is probably the lowest point for the genre in its history (hyperbolic yea, but whatever) outside of Chris B’s debut, Neyo’s songwriting, Jazmine Sullivan’s voice and Dream’s hits the genre became stale ..almost beyond recognition. Lyfe flew under the radar for most top 40 listeners, but I remember hearing ‘Lyfe 268-192’ for the first time in 07 (it was released in 04) it was the most soulful s*** my 13 year old ears have ever heard. Looking back, it’s one of the few RnB records from that era that still holds up today. It also didn’t fit the commercial branding of RnB during that time. Definitely worth the listen

s*** my bad i didn't see this notif somehow lmao

nah not really, she usually listens to r&b/hip hop (usually 90's/2000's but some present day stuff as well) or the popular rappers of the day (she's pretty big on meg rn, been big on future for a few years. etc) keep in mind my mom just turned 43 last week lol

Brother was telling a story between every track. Was alright but kinda annoying
