Everyone said the same about the alchemist / Roc Marci skeleton key listening party, that it was just a listening party and no release date was close, and it dropped the week after i think it’s very likely to assume the album will be close to January 25

I’m less trusting when it comes to Yasiin releases, truly hope this actually is out there for the people

even if we get it chances of it being some 7 track 21 minute 'but every bar is worth it' and its 2 mins of samples and outros on each track bullshit is insanely high

That’s fair but the last Yasiin LP from December has been delayed for weeks and sample clearance / mastering has held it up indefinitely, so there’s less confidence for this one to drop soon I feel

January can’t come fast enough

The alchemist connection is what is skyrocketing my confidence. He is always be able to meet release dates, bypass sample clearance hold ups, effectively get stuff out there. I’m not sure if his imprint ALC is on EMPIRE or how that works but he gets multiple collab albums out every year on those imprints/label with little friction. If alchemist is involved on the release end of things, and it’s ready to play in a months time, I’m sure it’ll be out around then.

very excited for Yasiin to get back into the limelight ngl I've been praying for times like these basically the entire time I've been a music nerd (past ~15 years).

Ecstatic next to Kanye and Roots was a very formative rap record for me and it's a damn shame it was his last proper solo album still.

the Black Star album imo showed he still got it and his rare guest appearances for Kids See Ghosts and Navy Blue etc consistently goated. it's time he makes ppl aware again he's one of the greatest to do it
