it unfortunately has not grown on me much, i NEVER disagree with Ye's artistic choices, but on this one he dropped the ball hard. if you take off ghost town (its a ksg track i believe it was even said it was intended for it) this album is really his worst. EXTSY shoulda been on it, and brothers shoulda been the track, not violent crimes. wouldnt leave has also aged quite poorly. all that being said, this is still better than most ppls favs best album
Happened when he was hospitalized in 2016
Tbh after that things never been the same. S*** all these documentaries on this nigga ppl always skipping over that part of his life
Weigh all the options
Nothings off the table
Today, I thought about killing you
Premeditated murder
KSG is most certainly better than this record as well.
Opener one of Ye's bests tho, and the sample being removed didnt really change much

Wouldn't Leave hit so personally for me at the time, but definitely aged way worse than almost any Kanye song after what went down in the 5 years since it dropped.
trying to gain some pages huh
I personally enjoy this more than KSG but yeah "way better" def may be a little bait
crazy too because ye was working with some INSANE s*** around this time. that francis and the lights song would literally have been one of my fav kanye songs ever if it was on this album. all his features were knocked outta the park. we got love being my fav.
we need a full wyoming documentary, it was truly a much more important and crucial era to his character than i think most give it credit for
Wow, 5 years already! Bad album.
Jk it’s decent. Nothing top tier but some pretty good tracks on there, although it did have some legit filler which is kinda crazy for a 7 song album. KSG was much more memorable and replayable.
I can not for the life of me pretend that this is an album. This is a god damn EP

I can’t wait to see the documentary about what happened with him on the build up to it and during. It’ll explain a lot I’m sure

I think of all the Wyoming era projects as one album broken down into 5 EPs
I liked all the non rapping parts A LOT, Ye just didnt have it in this as far as rapping, even DONDA was better in that regards. Also Ghost Town is top 10 Ye for me
070 Shakes part in Violent Crimes too
Loved the whole buzz around the ranch as well, felt like Hawaii all over again, plus i loved how big he was dreaming at the time with the farm and the communal ideas (even if it was just bait for funding in the end)
Was this Kanye's d***giest era?
possibly but it wouldnt be saying much. couple blunt puffs that were not inhaled. he claimed he was doing some psychs around this time i think, but have a hard time believing it tbh
