Well said bro. You hit everything on the nail. I’d argue that All Mine, while it slaps, wasn’t needed also. I really wish we got the original songs for the album like XTCY, Brothers, Everything, Take it to the Light, etc.
Thanks fam
yeah, Take Me To The Light could’ve been a cornerstone. Fully forgot about that song, big missed opportunity

Kanye West's most overhated album.
A short, concise but revealing look into the psyche of Kanye West. One of his most personal and open projects. A perfect encapsulation of the Wyoming era.
When this dropped it was such a vibe
I was listening to TLOP earlier and this is 🧢🧢🧢
The multitude of different ideas and energies juggled, sometimes sloppily (that just makes it better imo) on that album is staggering
There's def great moments on the album but it was indeed the beginning. Besides being sloppy, the bleached a****** line was very known for being unhinged at the time and then he had all those rants and walkoffs at the shows too. We can't just try and rewrite history because the album sounds better in hindsight compared to what he's making and doing today. Being the beginning of something doesn't mean it's bad, just that u can see the cracks forming
Bewildering mixing on this album, first experience on headphones was not good

I def think it was the beginning of his mental slipping irl, but I’d put the album up there with the first 6 personally.
ye clears everything he’s dropped since imo
might even like it more than TLOP
Ain’t no f***ing way you think Ye is better than Donda my brother

I’d argue that the first cracks on his songwriting and mental health started with Cruel Summer into Yeezus. I think the fashion industry really destroyed him but then the cracks get way bigger with TLOP/hospitalization and here we are now.

Yeah I don't disagree at all
Ain’t no f***ing way you think Ye is better than Donda my brother
i do
i think donda is super bloated, i think a lot of the features are completely uninteresting, i think the censorship is annoying and stupid, i think ye’s vocals sound outright bad on a lot of the songs, and i think too many songs have outright bland production
ye has all the same highs with none of the issues that make donda a boring full listen to me
interesting and fun period April-June 2018
It was only fun when he came back and announced the dates but after that Candace Owens tweet s*** went downhill fast
Aside from Yikes and No Mistakes, I’m not a fan of this album.
The album title and cover, which seem overly rushed, encapsulates the mediocrity of this album. It’s also one of my least favorite eras from Kanye when he went full MAGA.

Ghost town and violent crimes?? do you have a soul
When I first heard this I thought bro was completely done musically
But the album grew on me and KSG restored my faith too
After getting over the slavery s*** and the initial disappointment I had most of the album on repeat. Only song I didn’t return to was Violent Crimes. Ghost Town still one of my favorite Ye tracks oat and Yikes been on my workout playlist since back then. No Mistakes reminds me of Late Registration. At the time I hadn’t got that vibe from a Ye album in awhile. Aside from maybe Bound 2. Production on Wouldn’t Leave was on some 808s s***. Hook on All Mine is too crazy. I like how he made the minimalist production work
I was letdown by Pablo at first too but there was enough material on there to make me feel like he could still reach the level he was at in his prime. Ye was the album that made me accept that he’d never make that return with his solo music but demanding another project like his first 6-7 would be a challenge to anybody that was over 20 years into their career
I wouldn’t criticize it as much if it wasn’t considered a full length album. Would be a cool EP or mixtape. Some sort of side project. Putting it next to the releases before it makes sick lowkey lol bruh really had the perfect discog

Aaah ye, an insta-classic just like yeezus, JiK, Donda.
Finally getting some of the respect it deserves I see. Just like Yeezus it took about 5 years.
