Had College Dropout when it came out and haven't heard a bigger opus than Donda yet this decade
Are we gonna continue being in denial that Kanye isn't Eminem tier at this point
current eminem is working/performing on a level several tiers above kanye. he hasn’t rly been that bad this decade imo
Wait he finished the song?
That was a nice suprise
Showing you didnt listen to Vultures 2 after first week
man this was an artist that fought to be considered a rapper when Jay Z and others would only let him produce. he ran in the same circles as Mos, Talib, Cons, Q etc because that s*** was important to him. now, he can't even be bothered to get in the booth and say bars he didnt even write and would rather shove in some genAI into the mix instead. self-described "consumers" itt calling it the future of music when yall just satisfied there's something in the digital trough to scarf down
Here's my personal tier for all of Ye's projects.
Magnum Opus: MBDTF, Yeezus, CD, LR
Great albums/Classic tier: Grad, 808's, KSG
Good albums: TLOP, Donda, WTT, GOOD Fridays
Mid/Okay albums: Cruel Summer, Ye, Vultures 1
Bad/Trash album: JIK, Vultures 2, Donda 2
Donda 2 was never released officially but yea

True but that's why I included GOOD Fridays to balance it out.

Tbh, I think everyone agrees that Vultures 2 is his worst project.
The defenders are just contrarians at this point.
Nah bro.
We ain't acting like V2 is some "underrated gem."
Hell, I'd rank Donda 2 over this s*** if we count the finished versions of the Donda 2 songs on the Internet.
V1 at the very least flows like an actual album. V2 is pretty much a demo tape that received a few updates. Hell, the good version of Lifestyle still ain't on the actual album.
And that's not even factoring in the difference in impact.
I mean a finished Donda 2 would be borderline top 7
I enjoy it more than V1 but obviously agree to disagree lol Impact and reception wise you definitely got me. I just don't see a huge difference in quality between any of the post TLOP Ye albums(bar KSG), much less between the two Vultures albums. I also didn't listen to the demo's/OG versions until after hearing the final so that may also be a factor.

Eh...I definitely think Ye and Donda are a whole tier above JIK and Vultures 2. Maybe even V1 too.
But I think the consistent theming of those albums play a role too.
Ye is concise and has a central theme surrounding mental health, family, and the duality of Kanye established in TLOP. Donda expounds on his spiritual journey that he touched on with JIK but with more modern production elements.
The Vultures albums have no central theme at all. They're the only albums besides Cruel Summer that give off playlist vibes in his discography but CS at the very least was a label comp album so it gets a pass.

Donda definitely his best solo post TLOP. Ye to me the at the bottom but that may be because it was the first album from him to disappoint me and it was a bit shocking at the moment. I just feel like most rappers at that time could've made that album. Whereas previously every Ye album was unique and sounded different.
JIK is nice imo subject matter only thing really holding it back. Hooks are great, features are nice and it has some of the best production over the last decade of Ye.
I see Vultures like his return/temporary escape back to debauchery and being a somewhat single, rich, h**** ass again at the time lol
Then get ready to stop listening to music in general.
Maybe popular music but there will always be musicians that don't use AI
Slide is just okay?
Lol
Yes lol the production carries the song for the most part in my opinion. Ok does not mean bad but it isn’t anything groundbreaking to me personally.

I agree with Donda being his best post TLOP if we're not counting KSG which is factually his most consistent post TLOP project.
I sorta agree with you on Ye. Didn't care for it at first but it grew on me and I feel several on there are some of Ye's greatest(Violent Crimes, Ghost Town, No Mistakes) while the others are kinda generic and felt more like loosies.
I feel the opposite about JIK. I think the subject matter is its saving grace because of how wholesome and mature Ye sounds while the production and lyrics are just kinda generic and watered down from Yandhi.
Vultures 1 is okay to me in the sense that it's a collab album with Ty Dolla Sign that wasn't meant to be all that deep or experimental but it actually exceeded my expectations to an extent. It flows together fine as an album and has some incredible beats and vocals that Ye(and his unpaid interns lol) and Ty put together. The features were good too. It's really the mixing/mastering and some of Ye's phoned in verses and cringe bars that throw the album off.
V2 to me is so bad that it might as well be non-canon. Ye should've put that s*** on Stem Player like Donda 2 and let us listen to the updates via Youtube leaks lol.
Such a waste of a good beat/sample
I feel like old Ye would’ve really had this song go somewhere. What is this man doing atp
