It just becomes a hard argument to take seriously because the tools he uses every day have artificial intelligence capabilities. Such as autotune. We wouldnt have his catalogue without those tools either. I’m confused does he use chat gpt to write his music now? So he can use a particular type of ai for some things but not other ai for others?

I think it’s just easier to say that the use of the tools is lazy. There are interesting people using these tools in interesting ways. I can get behind calling him lazy but to be upset with the use of the tools seems incredibly silly imo

Nuance is important here, yeah those fall in the category of AI but there is more of a human element with those tools than using straight up AI to write a verse and using the AI vocals. It also doesn’t sound good imo. Some AI might sound better than others tho. All in all it’s disappointing to watch someone who was so hands on with his music even with having help from others to get wrapped up with using AI.

Even if it’s a situation like just using AInkanye vocals over a pre written verse that’s even worse imo it doesn’t have that old Kanye Charisma that his older music had

It basicially is exactly that lol. Thankfully i can create using my Brain & don’t need this and am not impressed by it in the slightest. Cool when its practical usage, like within existing software to help edit an image or something. But fully generative AI video is lifeless & lacking the human touch that makes art what it is, and is theft at the end of the day. Humans will always create better, more creatively and tastefully and impressively than a computer imo, because we actually live and breathe and experience and feel

Idk, I disagree that it’s just firing off aimless prompts and hoping for the best. You can get very granular and refine your direction quite a bit.. take your generations into traditional tools and work them further into complete works. I really don’t see the difference between this and being the hands of some creative/art director. You’re just their little AI executing their prompts.. synthesizing all of your reference points.. thieving along the way.. and then being thieved from when the director takes credit for your work.
