Shermani am a fan of ye because of who he is and what he has to say (nazi bullshit aside)
I am not interested in some writers demo with a vocal filter on it because that may as well not be KANYE music at that point
i listen to music by artists i love for the unique perspective and vision that only they can provide. what's the point of listening to a kanye song if it's barely kanye anymore?
if he legit cannot do it at this point then he may as well retire and just become a producer
one of the greatest artists of all time doesn't need to resort to this to keep his career "alive"
to be fair, it's really not that much of a change in his usual process. i think he's doing his usual mumble demos where he comes up with the melody, flows, and some of the lyrics and has writers turn them into actual songs, as he has done for the majority of his career. he still has a pretty heavy hand in the songwriting process, but he's no longer doing the finished vocals.
it's pretty lazy, but i also think it's predictable it would go this direction because i don't think kanye likes rerecording his vocals half as much as he likes freestyling ideas.
