I swear...the sour taste from Vultures made people just straight up write revisionist history on Donda.
Is Donda an elite album? Nope.
But it's easily a very solid album and very consistent for an album as long as it is. And I'd say it's on par with TLOP quality wise. This was a very common take too until "Deathcon."
I think people just don't want to give Ye props for anything past 2016 because they associate it with the MAGA/"Slavery was a choice" era of 2018-2020 or the "Nazi/Vultures" era of late 2022-2024 where his image took a dive and Donda is sandwiched right in between it.
I like it more than MBDTF. I consider it elite.
But yeah I agree. Iām not sure where the Donda doubt started to come in.

I would prefer if artists ran GBs for their own songs, or had a subscription based model like James Blake, and were fairly compensated for their work. I hate what streaming did to the art of music and the lack of compensation for artists

Nobody is mad when a song gets released at least not in any communities I am a part of.
I Mean except the people who wanted to make money off of selling them but f*** those people Iād much rather Kanye release all the stuff that he teases so I can stream it officially and get him his money
