Here's my opinion on recent Kanye:

It can all be summed up in one word. Laziness. Kanye has always been labeled a creative genius by his peers and fans, and rightfully so, but I believe the past few years have been completely phoned in. This is the same guy who would spend hundreds of hours perfecting the drums on a song or making a masterpiece of a music video and now he can't even be bothered to record or write his own lyrics or even consistently release a finished song. His recent use of AI in music videos and in his music is just the latest example of someone who no longer cares about the art he releases. AI can be used for fun things in music, for example, splitting samples apart or like on the last JPEGMAFIA album, it was used to interpolate a Future song into a different genre for use as a sample. THAT is creative. Using AI to make Cyhi or another random reference artist sound like a glitching Ye or making an awful AI music video is just extremely lazy. I grew up on listening to Kanye's music and he inspired me with his creativity. That Kanye is gone.

It’s one of those things where I think he just doesn’t have the spark to create like that anymore which normally would result in a long hiatus. it’s the reason why we haven’t had a new Hov album in years or even an Andre album.

But Ye is addicted to attention and numbers that he will cut corners to put something out. That’s the difference between him and them and ultimately that s*** is wack. Donda should have been his last release imo
