Definitely prefer weirder darker ye the older I get but I do not care for the Kid Cudi album

Yeah it’s an ear sore to me has a big good instrumental and on the surface sounds like a big effort centrepiece but it’s kinda corny and empty after a few listens. Deserved to be written and structured better

i'd say the eras are the bear trilogy, 808s through TLOP, ye through donda 2, and vultures through bully. time will tell if the post-divorce psychological breakdown era has ended with this album.

and i think it'll be remembered as tumultuous but also weirdly decent as far as the music went. he was consistently inspired and made a lot of good stuff despite all the issues he was facing.

Donda's strength is in its atmosphere fully, I really appreciate how cohesive it sounds compared to the albums it's sandwiched by

since like 2017 I wanted a dark, atmospheric, liminal Ye album and I got one so even tho it's far from perfect I got a soft spot for it fs

there's some songs that are good but it's an unfinished album that got rushed out a year or so after it was shelved
