sometimes he still pops up with a verse that resonates like two birds one stone or the last verse on Race My Mind but its rare
hes still a great rapper im just saying his pen isn't transcendent like it used to be. also even in terms of flows, compare 'because she supported since hot beats ..' to post 2015 drake

I think he’s just assembling albums a bit more cynically and dropping these 20 track projects that give a little bit to everyone. For the type of music fans that go on forums, these aren’t going to be very good, but I’ve heard Drake himself discuss how his experiences on stadium tours inform his creative process. For the purposes of stadium tours, Scorpion’s and CLB’s assembly kinda makes sense honestly. It’s not what forum guys want, but we don’t fill stadiums.

my og comment was that his bars are better than ever but his actual ability to write a verse that hits isn't the same, and I feel like you're just listing a bunch of verses that prove my point

champagne poetry is actually the perfect example of new drake trying to be deep and emotional and failing because he doesn't understand how to relate his ultra rich successful mf struggles to everyone else anymore, which is what he used to be good at
and songs like NFITI and 8 out of 10 are bangers but dont belong anywhere near a list of truly classic verses lol
