Then people were using the same argument for TLOP, âbut the lyrics are supposed to be stupidâ, and I already kind of felt like that wasnât holding up any more
And now here we are
I still think people cut Yeezus way too much slack
But the new s*** is so bad lyrically that it makes Yeezus look like Late Registration in comparison

he's talking strictly bars. the reality is the bulk of the raps on his first 3 albums were written before he blew up and afterwards (with the exception of MBDTF) he got complacent as f*** with the pen. his genius still came through in other ways and he made classics but if there's a weak point it's the lyrics on those two albums
