Here’s the aspect that he is seeing ye: the actual hands on aspect of making a beat on a machine. In comparison to alchemist, who makes hundreds of beats on his own each year, Ye probably barely knows his way around equipment at this point

The truth is they’re too different leagues of producers, one of them is a producer in the hip hop sense of making a beat while also guiding artists to rap on them, and another is more of a curator, putting musicians and artists in position and directing the process

Alchemist doesn’t have a beat in his catalog as bad as What Would Meek Do

Do these producers get overrated, sure but Ye gets overrated as well. It’s disrespect to compare Ye to someone who’s actually hitting the pads with their own hands, not telling Andrew Dawson what to chop up

Kanye has produced some of the greatest albums ever recorded. Alchemist isn’t seeing him.

Alchemist has at least 10 projects from the last 5 years that are better than Daytona. Daytona is overrated because of who made it. Alchemist and Roc Marciano laps Ye and Push as a boom bap duo from the production to the bars

That’s not fair though because Alchemist is known for producing full albums for artists, having them stay at his house and even mixing the albums, he’s clearly a producer as well as a beat maker

So one of them is a beat maker and a producer

One of them is just a producer

I’m not saying Alchemist is higher all time but his output in the last decade is better than Daytona
