But wouldn't they make money regardless? Unless they are trying to do some deal where Kanye and Ty$ own the masters and they'd make less? Some sort of distribution deal or something

They would make a s*** ton of money! But in my mind, the big labels are thinking “this guy went on an antisemitism campaign last year, proclaimed he was a Nazi, and still has yet to apologize for it.”
And I don’t think any big label wants to risk the backlash, but I could be completely wrong.
I would love if Kanye just put it out on his own label or something, that would be sick.

no distribution company with any corporate visibility is going to leverage that risk of outcries of outrage on social media & the industry. it’s just that simple
especially NOW. it’s better for Ye to release this on a independent avenue.

Pretty sure he would have to fund everything at that point. Any video he wants to shoot, doing the listening sessions at the stadiums etc. I think most if not all the budget would have to come from him unless he gets backing
