Yeah sometimes it's a necessary evil. I have never heard of someone with bipolar live completely normal, functional lives without serious interruptions that aren't on some kind of regimen. There are conditions with similar symptoms like borderline that have a profound basis in trauma, and therapy can make a huge difference without medication. I am generally in favor of people seeking out therapy before medication. I've had an incredible therapist since 2020 who has guided me through a tough time very effectively.
