Pretty common thing in manic episodes for people is that they get a Jesus complex where they believe that they are some type of resurrection of Jesus and have the job to save the world. When the mania is gone, they often are embarrassed of themselves to have believed that. I think, mania can trigger change in beliefs strongly to the point where you suddenly have beliefs such as Kanye about Jews.

Kanye has stated many times that he's saying what people wish they could say out loud. I don't really agree with the approach but good luck to him
