this project is unreal man. he tapped into a different energy this time around. loco & 2tone
might be some of his best work tbh overall in his discography.

This stretch insane
i‘ve been thinking about this for a while and unfortunately i have to agree. i don‘t know what it is with current yeat, but his new music isn‘t scratching the itch for me, no matter how good it is.
it‘s crazy cause i‘ve never felt this way with an artist before. at least not as bad as i do with yeat. i can hear and appreciate his evolution, but it‘s simply not hitting like that for me.
his run in 21-22 was just so generational that it‘ll never be recreated by anyone. and it‘s unfair to hold him to that standard. he‘s doing what he wants now and i‘ll gladly listen to it. but i have a hard time really letting go of that old sound and enjoying the new music, i guess.
i‘ve officially reached unc/gatekeeper status and it sucks. i literally feel like that squidward meme where he‘s watching everyone outside have fun while he‘s miserable at home lmao
Understandable, Up2Me is a classic and his whole 2021-22 run is special, but probably impossible to repeat just like Future or Young Thugs 2015-16 runs, A lot of people would wish they kept dropping classic s*** like DS2, Barter 6 to this day, but its an unreasonable expectation i feel like
I guess sometimes thats just how it goes especially with artists like Yeat who dont stay in the same box and keep pushing their sound with every project, the directions he is going might not always allign with every fan or hit as hard as some of his earlier s*** but id rather have this experimenting Yeat than him trying to recapture the magic of that run his whole career

I felt the same way about Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick, so many artists that I missed out on really enjoying stuff like Astroworld, Future/Hndrxx, Pablo, So Much Fun along with everyone because it wasn't Rodeo or DS2 or whatever. I'm at the point where I kind of just detach the name from the artist and can enjoy it more idk I been feeling that gatekeeper feeling for a while

damn that sounds awful
funnily enough i‘m able to do this for most artists you listed, just not with yeat. i don‘t even know why.
anyway, i‘ll have to give dangerous summer some more spins to see if it can grow on me as a project. cause liking select few songs isn‘t a problem, it‘s the projects overall that aren‘t living up to me (no pun intended)
COME N GO is insane
