necromancer· editedWhat really scares me about this (and I alluded to this in the earlier thread) is that Kanye can basically act as a pipeline to this nazi s***, especially with his largely white suburban fanbase who feel enamored in his celebrity personality, and are also generally alienated.
A lot of these kids that follow Kanye are also irony-poisoned meme posters who find humor in general edginess and rejecting current values. There is a time though when the jokes start to make perfect sense in their minds as legitimate and righteous positions, you really start believing it, even if you deny it early on
Memes are like compressed containers of pure ideology, and it can be quite convincing to have all the answers to the world in such a tight format.
Theoretically, Kanye can be the exposure in someone’s mind to lead to them looking up these figures and finding their rhetoric enticing, especially with this “anti-wokeness” angle acting as the hook.
Who’s to say some of these kids can’t do the next Buffalo (targeted mass murder of black people), El Paso (targeted mass murder of Mexican and other latino people, particularly on the basis of anti-immigrant “Great Replacement” rhetoric) or Colorado Springs (targeted mass murder of queer people)?
For a man having a mental crisis during a mid-life crisis, he may see himself as just acting out after all of this, but he has helped make the world worse by bringing these people back into the spotlight and I hope he bears that shame forever, since innocent people, especially black people, really do get hurt by the consequences of this BS spreading and radicalizing the minds of impressionable people
Kids who would fall victim to some nonsense like this were bound to do so eventually. Gotta be a special type of stupid
